Making Progress

I've managed to get 12 of the 20 blocks I need for the Kansas Troubles or as I'm going to call it Buffalo Troubles *wink* top.
The closer hubby gets to moving the more grief I'm getting from the teens. This too shall pass ( I hope)

I need 8 more of these blocks and I can piece the top....

Let's not forget the insane project I started last year. This poor top keeps getting pushed aside for other hand sewing. Bindings, hanging sleeves- soon english paper piecing.

My brain dead son stepped on the Marti Mitchell template I was using to cut and mark all the little pieces. After a few emails I am getting a replacement template from Marti Mitchell w/o buying a whole set...yeah!

Books and Amish Tumbling Blocks

I got the scrap book in the mail this week....and the other is the
Ultimate Quilt Book- which is one of my very favorite books for quilt inspiration. I think I spent $8 for it including shipping....

The other night I was reading the Ultimate Quilt Book and came across a layout simular to the one I'm using for my Amish Tumbling blocks.........

One of the awesome parts of Electric Quilt is the ability to print out a black and white drawing of the quilt top. One rainy day I gave the teens each a fresh box of colored pencils and 2 sheets to help me figure out how I wanted to do these blocks. DD's coloring won - can you see the X it makes???? But the best part is how it's kinda like the book's pic and we all know she's not reading them in her spare time.

So since we've been back from New England I've managed to get 4 complete rows done and am adding the fifth row :)

Crap!!! Look what I missed ( upper right hand corner):( Never fear- I fixed it an am piecing the blocks for row 6 :)

Sat Musings

Today I tried quilting that pretty black and white quilt I posted last week. Tried is the key word. My speed regulator decided today it was going to die on me- I've had it a few years and use it often but I'm less than amused as I had to order a new one for about $100.
So after a trip to Wally World to get the last of what DD needs to start school Monday I watched the Yankees and worked on my tumbling blocks- here's part of 2 rows of 30 done :)

My cat, Nancy , has this thing about freshly taken off shoes that the men of the house wear *bleck-gross*

Alittle catnip goes along way in helping with quilt layouts....

Moose decided he wanted to help also :(

Both cats have found something else to do beside "help me".

Monday morning on the funny farm with cats

Lots of baseball this weekend means lots of tumblers made :)
I have a zip lock baggie of the ones I made and was going to add some of the ones that I pressed flat this morning and the baggie opened- what a mess. So I figured I'd start printing the paper piecing templates (which takes forever) for the Yogi quilt and play with a layout. Now this isn't necessarily what I'm going to do but the size doesn't seem right in length to me :( at least not what eq says. These one patch blocks never seem to work in the layout for me. I had this problem with my GMFG too. I think I'm going to print out the drawing in black and white and see if it's what I think it is any how..........

.......I went in the measure where I thought the problem was and I found this: Nancy Strikes Again :(
