Ann's Mystery Revealed- stash report

Looks like this is a popular setting for the mystery. Of the other 2 I saw they look very simular in settings but different colors.
Here's Leah's and here's Beth's. Great minds think alike or something like that.
Picnic in an hour or so last minute prep work like frosting cupcakes etc...enjoy your Sunday.

Stash report- let's see, no finishes, still waiting on part for frame. I brought in a jelly roll set, got orange charms in the mail for a pattern, I think there are 40 of them 3" and 3/4 of a yard of egg fabric for Nanette's cute pattern. And the backing for the ocean waves...almost forgot :)

Burger King's WTF and stash report

I have no finishes in the stash department this week *sigh* one on the frame when the speed regulator died, disappearing 9 patch blocks need setting triangles to a flimsy, Yogi quilt is still in blocks stage. I did order a fat back for Ocean Waves but it's not here yet-kitchen sink is getting worked on tomorrow :) But hopefully next week will be one of those banner weeks with mulitple finishes.

Hubby had to work tonight as did DD so it was just DS and myself for the dinner department so I asked what he wanted- silly me. He wants Burger King * rolling eyes* so off we go. He orders whatever supersized -jumbo drink meal and I order a kids meal. Cheeseburger plain- I want to try the new Apple fries and a I want a plain milk. Now the price of a kid's cheeseburger meal is very plainly marked $3.69 and my total came to $5.03 ?????? Because there is a charge for the apple slices and for milk instead of soda ( the same for bottled water) It was over a buck in charges just because I didn't want potato fries and a soda....

Though quite tasty I found the whole thing insane. It just goes to show that it's way cheaper to eat crap than eat healthy.

Look who I found hanging out in the apple tree.....

Sunday Sewing- stash report

So this morning at 4 AM the thunderstorm blew in- very loudly I might add. Moose has a new phobia, thunderstorms :(
Another problem was dd and some friends were camping in the back yard even though they were warned that a storm was coming. What do I know? I'm only the mom. So at 4 I had house guests- great start to the day huh? Now what does one feed 4 hungry teens when I woke them up at 8:30? Pancakes and fruit salad of course. Kicked 3 out by 10 cause I wanted my dining room table back to sew.

I came across these blocks I got as a hostess gift from a group I no longer belong to and wanted to do something with them so I made a flimsy. Couldn't find the pieces I wanted to use for the backing so used the last of my muslin. THen the storms came back and they'll be here most of the night so now it sits loaded on the frame. So now I"m wondering how to quilt the thing....any ideas????
I have a nice grey thread I'm going to use but that's as far as I got.

I fell asleep reading on of the Jimmy Buffet novels for a few hours and now have dinner in the oven :) A real Sunday dinner, Roast Beef and all the fixings. Pay back for waking me up at 4 is murder on DD having to all these dishes later :D

I hope the Yankees and Red Sox get the last game of the series in. Been some good games so far. I managed to get 30 tumbler blocks hand pieced last night and 10 yoyos....and have the same prepped for tonight. Could have done some during the Met game this afternoon, but that's when I fell a sleep.

As far as a stash report for the week, I managed to finish my flag banner completely and this top. But on a better note, nothing came in. So what did I use? 1 1/2 yards??? Better than nothing I guess. Vacation will do that to you sometimes. I ordered a chicken pattern from Nanette for my next project in the banner series :)

Last Finish - Stash report

Tah Dah!! Another Nancy approved quilt- she's becoming quite the ham for the camera- but alas a bird was on the air conditioner and grabbed her attention. Delivered tonight but I forgot my camera- my sister in law loves both of them *VBG* Didn't Mel do a great job with the quilting????ANd i repay her by sending fabric :P

Here's the bonus hst wall hanging that matches. My niece thought it was for her as it's "her size"

I have no idea how to figure all the fabric used with Grandma Cora, Simply Squares, the spring mystery, which was delivered today to the new mom. She loved it and warned the men of the house it was hers and then this pineapple blossom tonight.
2 kings,
1 queen and a full ....I'm way ahead of the game- opps I had 1 1/2 yards come in yesterday for the kitchen sink borders and binding- legal buys but still ahead of the game -now if I can get the next 3 in que done the week after next life would be grand.
We leave in the morning. Big Poppi is "supposed" to be playing for the Sea Dogs. The kids have a HUGE table of Mad Libs, remember them???? Nothing like teenage responses to Mad Libs.....

Sunday stash report-etc

Nothing came in and nothing was actually finished :(
I've been testing a mystery for a friend and am starting to assemble the blocks. I love the color choices for it. It will be a pretty quilt. Hubby likes this quilt but started complaining of the leaning tower of boxes I have here of started not finished quilts/blocks.So I dragged one out at random and started working on a tulip quilt that was a mystery this last spring that another friend did. So today I'll work on that and the love quilt I have started for a friend.
THe heat and humidity have been killer here lately :(
So much so that I barely leave the house, let alone try to quilt in the garage. I want to work on these tulips for a bit more this morning/afternoon and baste a table runner I did with charm blocks from Jeanne. I did a table runner from the Happy Zombie. It's cute, I want to hand quilt it for my mother in law for the holidays.
Friday night was DD's party and I tell you people (teens) rsvp'ed and never showed or they showed up late (9:30) and DD had left to go to her bf's party. I mean if the invite says 5-9 that's when the party is.
We have a ton of food left over and that's with 50 people showing up. We were supposed to go out to dinner tonight but I can't see letting this food go to waste so we're eating leftovers again today.
Yankees are playing the Mets again this afternoon so I'll be chilling in front of the TV stitching away. How knows, maybe I'll have a finish to share this evening.......
Keep cool and happy stitching :)

Sunday Stash Reports

Not too much on the sewing front this week with all the hoopla of DD graduating Friday night. I have been hand quilting this wall hanging for a couple of weeks. It's all the bonus hsts from a HUGE Pineapple blossom I did earlier in the year for my sil.

Here's some of the hand quilting on it :)

Boy are we lucky that we postponed DD's graduation party and rented a hall for next week. HUGE hail was falling in this awesome lightening storm right about the time the party would have begun. No fabric came in this week and this is about all that went out 40" square front and back so what 2 1/2 yards???

After my orthopedic appointment I hope to piece a top for the love quilt and email some color choices to Ann for her mystery. I'm not sure if I want a Halloween one or a Christmasy one but either way I need one of each for gifts both are very late. But first I need to measure how much Halloween fabrics I have.

Sunday stash report

Well stash came in- these lovely fairy frost fqs, 25 to be exact. But I didn't buy them and half are going to Katie-the pinks and purples.

I did manage to get this quilt pieced and quilted as a gift I need for THIS Thursday. Oh well at least it's done. So what's this?? 3 or 4 yards altogether? Better than nothing.

I'm playing with some jelly rolls of black and white fabrics, using red batik as the background for yet another pineapple blossom for bday present for a soon to be 16 y/o friend of dd's. Who managed NOT to get sun poisoning at the beach- YIPPEE!!! I'll breath a sigh of relief when she actually walks through the door this evening.
