The monster is done!!!! Boy did this take alot of fabric. I have a great report for Judy this coming Sunday. It's heavy but so bright and cheery for spring. I could probably sleep with the windows open with it *VBG*

Two Thirds done!!!

This cathedral windows has a very deep overhang on both sides and the bottom of it.
So I have to fill in the few "windows" that are empty. Can possibly be done today and tonight :) .
And I have 160 more pieces to put together....36 for this weekends trip. Will I get them all done and filled? Probably not. But better to have them ready to go than my dad hearing a chorus of "I'm bored" from ds and I ...lol
But this is getting very, very heavy already. I'm wondering if it will be too heavy for a spring/summer blanket.....

This morning I got up at 3AM - yep 3 . Why ??? I have no clue- so I played mindless games online- I finished reading COMEBACK ( very good book). Shocked the kids and made breakfast for them this morning-lol. Once they all left and the mess from the cat was cleaned up I started cleaning- kinda like a "fall cleaning" got alot done and crashed at2PM for 2 hours or so. So I needed to empty a rolling cabinet of "stuff" nothing really important just alot of of Stuff and came across these blocks-now I need to find a nice border /binding fabric and I'll have a nice wall hanging.Sometimes it pays to clean the sewing stuff-lol.

Isn't he cute??? Well he's been trying to come in for weeks so this morningI picked him up and brought him inside. What amistake that was :O He flipped out and charged for the window over my kitchen sink- knocking over plants, dishes anything in his way howling the whole time :( Never in 35 years have I ever seen a cat climb the curtains- I did today. We're friends again- he came to be brushed and fed before-

Blog hopping the other day I saw these blocks. Cute huh? I like the 2 color one, but DD wanted me to try a scrappy one and figured what the heck- I'm not sure I like it.**I'm thinking it's the light yellow hst in it- what do you think? I have to find it and change the color there and see if it looks better......**

But with all the great baseball games on lately I managed to get a big section of my cathedral windows quilt together. I need to add 2 more rows to the short side and finish the other half of the quilt. It will hang LONG over the sides of the bed.

It's Offical

Summer is here, the kiddies got out of school this afternoon .
DS graduated from 8th grade last night....DD managed to pass ALL of her classes with a C or above - woo hoo for her!
Spent the morning still trimming hsts for ocean waves-300 to go of the little ones, I haven't even started cutting that beautiful fabric I dyed for the large triangles in the corners.....the graduation quilt is quilted and the the binding has been sewn on on. I need to finish sewing it down tomorrow and make a label for it :)

The other day I got a book Liberated Quilting by Qwen Marston...love it ,love it ,love it. I made a 14 1/2" block this morning one of her liberated log cabin blocks. When I get my camera back from DD later I'll take a pic and post. It felt so very weird to be just sewing together with no worries if it "Matched" in size or whatever just sew ,press and trim.
Then I went back to work on my 30's repros cathedral windows. Will be queen, almost king sized when finished. Still have lots to go...above is a sample block.....
that's it from the home front- need to finish these last few "windows so I can start another row .....
